Alicia Ultan came to Albuquerque in 1993 from Minneapolis and has since performed as a violist and singer-songwriter in many varied ensembles throughout New Mexico. She is a member of the innovative 9-piece improvisational ensemble, Out of Context, with whom she has performed since 1997 and was a member of the roots-rock inspired band, Roger Jameson and the Jaded Hearts with whom she recorded two CDs. She is featured on several other recordings, including Triloka Records’ Tulku series, Mark Weber’s Zerx label, and others. A frequent performer at the Outpost Performance Space over the years as a violist and a singer-songwriter, Alicia was among the Outpost's songwriter "All-Stars" in 1999 and a Showcase feature in 2000.

As a songwriter, her influences range from Kate Bush to Joni Mitchell to Ofra Haza and Sarah McLachlan along with her father, Lloyd Ultan, who was a composer.

Besides her musical pursuits, Alicia is the Publicity Coordinator for Outpost Productions in Albuquerque, NM.
